Alter Ego becomes the first Asian team to participate in a FRAG event

BUFFAssistant

Alter Ego will cross the Pacific to make history in a FRAG event.

Earlier today, Indonesian organization Alter Ego officially registered for FRAG University, meaning they will make history as the first Asian team ever to compete in a FRAG series event. FRAG has previously attracted teams from around the world, and as the North American event series has become an important source of points for the Valve Regional Standings (VRS), more Brazilian and European teams have begun appearing regularly in FRAG events.

However, due to the long trip to North America and the high costs involved, no Asian organization had previously registered for a FRAG event—until now. FRAG University is likely an attractive option for Alter Ego: the event features a fixed $25,000 prize pool and comes less than a month before the invitation cutoff for PGL Major Singapore 2026.

Shortly after announcing its new roster, Alter Ego joined the field for FRAG University. The new lineup features three Asian players and two European players, including former TYLOO CS:GO star BnTeT and Mongolian prospect laxiee. The latter is no stranger to North America or FRAG LAN events — he spent two years in North America and played in four FRAG LAN events with teams such as Akimbo, BLUEJAYS, and SkinRave.

This international lineup is the fifth high-profile team to sign up for FRAG University, joining North American heavyweights M80, Marsborne, NRG, and Wildcard in the event held in Syracuse, New York.
