Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) Skin Showcase: AK-47 | AUTOEXEC
Valve has updated the Armory rotation, adding two new collections: The Graphic Collection and The Sport and Field Collection. Last time, we took a look at B the Monster, the Covert skin tied to The Graphic Collection; this time, we’re covering this spy-tech-style finish — AUTOEXEC.
The creator of this skin is Flick Montana. The concept for the skin was completed and submitted in July 2025, and in February of this year the creator reworked it into a spy-tech style. This update did not just bring this AK into the game; three other Racing Series stickers were also added.
First, the skin’s name is AUTOEXEC. The Chinese server doesn’t translate it either, using the name as-is. The name is a direct nod to the autoexec.bat file from early computer systems—a batch file that automatically ran commands on system startup. Paired with its spy-tech theme, it sets the tone for hackers, code, and automated scripts.
Whether it’s the Easter egg in the name or the abstract details and bits of text across the rifle, everything lines up with the spy-tech theme of digital infiltration and information warfare. This weapon feels like more than just a tool for physical damage output; it reads more like a high-tech “program” executing preset sabotage commands in cyberspace.
Gradient finish and pearlescent effect — The skin’s main visual punch comes from the large blocks of color across the black-and-white rifle body. The bold gradient from “digital blue” to “neon pink” sits mainly on the magazine and top of the gun. This “vaporwave” or “cyberpunk” color direction stands out especially well against the deep black/gray base, and the creator smartly gives the weapon surface a pearlescent, color-shifting look.
The graphics and text on the body look as if they’re floating beneath or embedded inside a transparent material, giving it the sci-fi feel of a spy-tech “cutting-edge prototype device.”
The stock and handguard are covered with a dark gray, black-and-white glitch-art dot-matrix pattern. The concentric arcs on the handguard call to mind the waveforms of radar sweeps, sonar detection, or data transmission, reflecting the spy-like trait of “detecting and gathering intelligence” and visually symbolizing data cracking, signal interference, or system intrusion.
The rifle is covered in industrial-grade technical markings, including HIGH RECOIL across the center of the body, SURE GRIP on the grip, STACK/PENETRATION on the magazine, and caliber labels. These warning-label and operating-instruction-style details make it look like a complex piece of precision hardware.
In terms of skin design, AUTOEXEC successfully brings together retro computer culture, modern tactical camouflage, and futuristic holographic aesthetics, giving it the distinct feel of a digital-era agent’s weapon. It nails the essence of “spy tech” through its geek-heavy name, vivid material work, and graphic symbols packed with data-driven references, shaping the rifle into a “smart weapon” built for a secret agent of the digital age—a piece of digital art grounded in hacker culture and cyberpunk aesthetics.
But...
It does get mentioned here, but the version of this skin you actually see in-game really does have that “tech-heavy look.” The original design that was accepted, though... looked like this!
This army-green skin has a muscular feel, but it doesn’t show much of that “tech-heavy look,” and it doesn’t have a pearlescent effect either. The creator designed eight AUTOEXEC finishes in total—which one is your favorite?
This is the most popular one, with a black-and-gray color scheme paired with a blue-green gradient.
This skin’s style is...it is not Gunsmith; the creator’s original submitted design was indeed in a Gunsmith style. However, after Valve made its changes, it added a pearlescent effect. It falls under Custom Paint Job, and more specifically, Custom Paint Job Extended. Its wear range is 0-1, and the finish holds up fairly well; obvious scratches show more at high wear. Wear gradually scrapes away the paint on this tech-styled skin, revealing the wood and metal texture of the underlying base.
