Welcome to this skin showcase. Today, we're taking a look at one of the skins from The Graphic Collection: Glock-18 | Trace Lock!

This skin is a Restricted skin from The Graphic Collection. Its original name is Trace Lock, its file name is Circles (circles), and the Chinese-server translation is “Trace Lock”. The collection’s color scheme centers on pure black, white, and gray, with no other high-saturation colors; this skin alone features vivid colors.

This finish’s black-and-white striped artwork resembles the Hypnotic Pattern Template, but the two have clear differences. Trace Lock has blurred “frayed edges,” while Hypnotic uses a solid-color background.

The standout feature of this finish is the color-shifting element on its black-and-white body: iridescent circuit-board traces. The traces run across the entire gun, and the distinctive circular graphics leave you plenty of room to build combos around it.

The colored circles and lines mimic circuit-board traces, and their colors shift depending on the viewing angle.

The lines on both sides of the body connect to each other, and part of the magazine also carries the same linework.

This finish uses a black, white, and gray backdrop, paired with a background treatment that looks like an "erased" visual effect.

There are a few smaller details too. Valve likes to add touches like this, and you might not have noticed that the background coloring on this skin’s is also affected by the Pattern Template. On some templates, more of the "slide" area appears gray, while on others, black takes up more of the surface.

The Pattern Template image for this skin’s variable appears to have been processed, as shown below:

Guess this finish style: Gunsmith? Custom Paint Job? This is actually a “Graffiti”-style skin. The color-shifting circuit-board traces use a new visual effect, “Iridescent” (Iridescence), as Valve experiments with adding more new effects to skins in the game. Fixed Wear Range, extremely sensitive to wear. Wear scratches away the finish on the weapon body, and the colored traces are not spared either.
