CS Skin Showcase: Desert Eagle | Firebreathing
A purple fire Deagle called “ Firebreathing ” was added to Dead Hand Terminal.
This skin is a Restricted (purple) skin, created in collaboration by three authors. It was originally completed on December 12, 2024, and part of it was revised and submitted on the 13th. After that, it did not undergo any further changes. It was finally accepted in 2026 and added to the game.
The concept behind this skin series goes back even earlier. As early as September 15, 2022, the first version released for the series was the AWP Firebreathing , with more saturated colors. For now, let’s look at this Deagle skin first, and I’ll break that part down below.
Now let’s take a look at the design behind this skin.~
This “fire” Deagle skin uses a cool-toned purple-and-blue theme, giving it a subversive, artistic look. Its most striking feature is its bold, unconventional use of color. Instead of the usual red-orange, scorching flame imagery people associate with “fire,” it shifts to a colder, more mysterious “frost” palette.
The body uses a deep purple base, layered with flowing cyan-blue and pale violet flames across the surface. The clash of cool tones creates a clear “frostfire” look. It keeps the lively, burning energy of leaping flames, while also giving off a cold, lethal sense of danger.
The skin’s surface has a fine metallic sheen with a pearlescent effect. That pearlescent finish is used mainly on the teal-blue flames, making it look like a high-energy fluid is spilling out from inside the gun. As the viewing angle changes, the colors shift as well, like flames frozen in mid-burn.
The pattern on the weapon body is not a realistic blaze. Instead, it takes a highly stylized approach, more like smoke, airflow, or pure energy curves. The lines are smooth and elegant, surging from the rear of the pistol toward the muzzle. They perfectly capture the original “Fire-breathing” theme, giving the static weapon a strong sense of forward motion, as if it is about to burst out.
The finish has extremely high coverage, with the flame pattern spreading across almost the entire slide, frame, and grip, giving it a very cohesive look. At the same time, the designer smartly blends the flame texture into the grip’s original textured sections, keeping the finish flashy while still preserving the weapon’s practical visual logic.
Built around the strikingly contradictory idea of “cool-toned flames,” this finish gives a weapon traditionally defined by brutal visual impact a more mysterious, refined, and even slightly sinister character.
This skin uses the Gunsmith finish style and has a 0-1 float range. Wear mainly shows up as scratching on the background. The blue-purple flames do not get scraped away by wear. At the highest float, the black background on the body gets worn off, leaving the flames sitting over the gun’s metallic surface.

Picking up from the previous section, the creators had already proposed the concept for this purple fire Deagle back in the early CS:GO days. The CS:GO version of this Deagle had more saturated colors:
Not only was the look more saturated, the original design also had a wear-based color shift: at high floats, the blue-purple flames would turn into fluorescent green flames.
Which design do you like better?
During the CS:GO era, creators designed nine skins in the Firebreathing series. Here, we’re showing the commonly used rifles:
AWP
M4A1-S
M4A4
After CS2 switched to the new weapon models, the creators did not make any new Firebreathing skins beyond this Deagle. It is possible that, after this Deagle was accepted by Valve, they may have tried to design Firebreathing skins for other weapons as well.
