CS Skin Showcase: Glock-18 | Glock-18 | Ghost Protocol
Welcome to Skin Showcase. Today we’re taking a look at The Espionage Collection’s red Covert skin Glock-18 | Ghost Protocol. This skin also goes all in on red, with a flashy look worthy of a ruby. (My red apple can still put in work!)
The creator behind this skin is the classic skin maker Graff. Skins such as Glock-18 | Block-18, AWP | Atheris, MP9 | Goo, along with some charm designs, all came from this creator. They also have multiple Prototype Keys, and this skin, which uses new technology, was accepted by Valve and added to the game. (The creator did not add the Spytech category affix, but this skin was still accepted by Valve and added to The Espionage Collection.)
This skin's original name is Ghost Protocol, while on the Chinese server it is translated as Glock-18 | Ghost Protocol. Next, let’s take a closer look at what makes this skin stand out.
“Ghost” and “Protocol”—this skin blends a futuristic, high-tech look with a bold red palette, and the bright crimson finish pops hard in-game. Glock-18 | Ghost Protocol cleverly turns its name into physical details across the finish: the slide uses a striking translucent red polymer material, creating a “ghostly” sense of transparency. It almost feels as if the weapon is made from clear material, letting you glimpse the weapon’s inner structure, but it stops short of full realism, adding a subtle layer of mystery.
The weapon body uses fine red circuit-line detailing to sell the look, with patterns that feel like traces on a printed circuit board. This circuit-trace design suggests the skin is some advanced protocol or digital program’s “execution terminal”.
This skin’s main color scheme uses an aggressively vivid red as its dominant tone, making the overall finish really eye-catching and giving off a sense of energy and extreme danger. Through its material work, the creator cleverly uses two different red textures to add more depth. The slide and parts of the frame use a high-gloss, semi-transparent deep red, which gives them an almost translucent look; meanwhile, more practical areas like the grip and magazine base plate use an opaque, matte bright red. The contrast between glossy and matte finishes creates a striking visual and gives the overall design more depth . A few parts, like the trigger, keep their black color , which helps with visual balance and serves as a nice accent .
A distinctive signature design element — glowing circuit textures. The red glowing circuit pattern running across the entire gun body is the skin’s most eye-catching feature. The circuit lines stretch from the muzzle all the way to the rear, intricate but cleanly organized. The creator added an iridescent effect, so as your viewing angle changes, these circuit patterns shift color; under the light, they shimmer with a flowing glow, bringing out the skin’s dynamic beauty and high-tech edge.
Custom typography — the grip uses a modern, clean sans-serif font, printed with the text “GHOST” and “PROTOCOL”. Of the two, the vertically arranged dotted “GHOST” lettering stands out especially well. It works as a direct callout to the skin’s name while also blending seamlessly into the weapon’s overall design, reinforcing its distinct identity.
Overall, “Glock-18 | Ghost Protocol” has a very clear design language and an extremely polished execution. It boldly blends the three core elements of “translucency,” “circuit board” and “bright red” into one cohesive finish, creating a futuristic high-tech aesthetic—less like a simple weapon skin and more like a piece of tech given a “soul”.
This skin’s style is Custom Paint Job Extended. The circuit-board traces have been given an iridescent effect, shifting color with the viewing angle for a brilliant, flowing glow. This skin has a locked float range of 0–0.9, and it also adds a new effect: the higher the wear, the more saturated the color-shift effect becomes.

Highest wear: 0.9
As wear starts to show, the higher the skin’s wear, the more pronounced the iridescent colors become, and the more saturated the color-shift effect gets. The image shows a same-angle color comparison between an unworn skin and a 0.9 max-wear skin.
