CS Skin Showcase: M4A1-S | Electrum

BUFFAssistant

Welcome to Skin Appreciation. This time, we’re taking a look at the M4A1-S often called “Emerald” by the community: the M4A1-S Electrum.

This skin is from Dead Hand Terminal, a Restricted skin originally named “Electrum”; on the Chinese server, it is translated as Electrum. The creator is moonfighter, who designed the Black Lotus series and Directive series.

This green skin actually takes inspiration from Cyberpunk 2077 character Johnny Silverhand. You might be wondering why a green skin would be inspired by Johnny Silverhand. Let’s take a look~

The creator reshapes the base visual silhouette of the M4A1-S with this skin, giving it a strong futuristic edge. Its ornate decorative textures paired with the weapon’s tactical form create the feel of a luxury alloy from a cyberpunk world, almost like a premium synthetic material.

The color finish leans into a bold clash of colors and materials—the main tone is flowing green metal, with the upper half of the rifle—including the upper receiver, handguard, carry handle, main stock, and signature suppressor—coated in a bright green metallic paint. The surface is packed with wavy, dynamic textures in shifting light and dark tones, reminiscent of malachite, marble, or flowing liquid. Under light, this green layer pops with a strong metallic shine and a tech-heavy feel.

The rear buffer tube on the stock, the trigger, the magazine release, and the lower half of the magwell are all accented in eye-catching gold or bronze. Those metallic tones contrast sharply but cleanly with the large green sections, giving the skin a premium look and a more lavish feel.

The lower receiver, pistol grip, and main body of the magazine use a matte dark gray or black finish, with clear anti-slip texturing visible on the grip. That darker treatment gives the bright green-and-gold palette a grounded visual base while keeping the weapon’s original tactical realism intact.

On the attachments around the fire-mode selector and beneath the crosshair area, you can spot small bright-red accents. Against the skin’s overall green, gold, and black palette, that touch of red really pops, adding more mechanical edge and a more dangerous feel to the weapon. So why do people say this skin takes inspiration from Johnny Silverhand?

This accepted green version is actually the third skin in the creator's Silverhand series. The series takes its inspiration from Johnny Silverhand, with the creator trying to reshape the weapon's base silhouette and give it a more futuristic feel. The body uses a polished metal texture, while the grip and barrel go darker with added grip patterns, finished off with red accents across the design. This skin is the original version of that concept.

The second finish by this creator swaps parts of the paintwork for metallic gold and silver.

The third skin is the one that was adopted for the game.

This skin uses the Gunsmith finish style, with a float range of 0–1.

Thanks to its Gunsmith finish, this skin holds up well across wear levels. Wear mainly dims the finish; at max wear, the colors turn muted, and the glossy metal takes on a rusted, brushed-matte texture.
