CS Skin Showcase: M4A4 | Eye of Horus
Today, let’s take a look at this orange-red M4A4 called “Falak”!
Although this skin is only Classified, its visual presentation is every bit as strong as a Covert. The skin’s original name was Falak, while the Chinese server translated it as Falak. It belongs to the Arabesque Series. فلَك (falak) means “sky,” “celestial body,” or “cosmos”, and is often used in poetry and literature to symbolize vastness, immensity, or fate. Here, though, it depicts the great serpent from Arabian mythology that dwells at the very lowest layer of existence—a figure in Middle Eastern folklore that is both a tangible entity and a symbol of primordial chaos.
Concept Art
This skin was created in collaboration by moonfighter and Lehmann. Lehmann specializes in sticker design, while moonfighter owns several Prototype Keys and is active in the Workshop community. The earlier M4A1-S | Moss Quartz also came from this creator:
Aside from the M4A4 | Falak we’re covering today, this creator also has another accepted skin: the FAMAS | Elite Build, which looks almost like a default finish.
Now let’s shift the camera and focus on this myth-themed M4A4. Visually, this M4A4 takes Arabian mythology, with its deep cultural storytelling, and blends it with modern weapon aesthetics. The skin uses sand as its base, giving the overall design a clean, elegant "canvas" that symbolizes a sacred domain. The main motif—the world-devouring serpent—uses blazing red, vivid orange, and bright yellow. Roaring across the rifle body, the serpent conveys the imagery of "primordial chaos" and "destructive power".
The creator works the serpent’s form into the M4A4’s complex body structure. The serpent’s head is placed at the core of the rifle, with a fierce gaze and slightly bared fangs, giving both the user and anyone inspecting it a strong sense of pressure. The snake’s body follows the weapon’s lines toward the rear, coiling heavily over the stock, while another section winds around the front of the stock. This incarnation of the serpent feels full of motion and life.
The area around the serpent’s body is filled with flowing red lines that look like flames or a nebula. These lines fill the background, creating a turbulent atmosphere that echoes the symbolism of “primordial chaos” while also matching the airy feel of the “celestial bodies” and “stars” implied by its name.
The red metallic accents on the rifle’s trigger, forward assist, sling loop, and the lower sections of the grip and stock echo the serpent’s body in color, making this a standout piece that tightly unifies grand storytelling with visual art. It turns that ancient Arabian mythological concept, charged with chaotic power, into a concrete, vivid, and forceful weapon skin.
And now it’s time for another round of spot the difference—Valve made changes to a number of skins, and this one was no exception. It also got hit with one of Valve’s a “stroke of genius” tweaks. Before the change, the skin looked like this:
The revised skin looks like this—the comparison makes it clear that the red sun on the handguard panel and the red sun wrapped by the serpent’s tail on the stock were both made more abstract and conceptual.
Which version do you like more, the one before the change or the one after?
Although this skin looks more like a “Custom Paint Job” on the surface, it is actually in the Gunsmith style, with a float range 0–1, and wear will scrape up the artwork on the body of the rifle.
