CS Skin Showcase: P90 | Deathgaze
“Medusa is whispering... Athena and Hades will eventually fall...”
This P90 | Deathgaze is a skin in Dead Hand Terminal at the Classified tier, created in collaboration by Tolik_Wask and Blazer. Another skin in this terminal, Kintsugi, is also a work by Blazer.
Most of you are probably familiar with the story of Medusa the Gorgon. Her best-known power is petrification, and that idea shows up across all kinds of works. CS also has the classic AWP | Medusa and AWP | Atheris stickers, and some maps feature Medusa-themed graffiti as well. This skin is the third version of the work, named Deathgaze, and it is localized in the Chinese client/localization as 美杜莎之视. Now let’s take a look at the creators’ design.
According to the creator, this skin tells a story. Based on Western deities, it visually interprets the fusion of “classical beauty and modern rebellion,” giving the finish a strong sense of narrative. The weapon body uses a base material of white marble texture with gold cracks (similar to Kintsugi elements).
The skin’s appearance establishes the finish’s classical tone, evoking ancient Greek sculptures and temples while echoing the solemn, “Sistine Chapel”-like feel mentioned by the creator. The gold “meander pattern” ornamentation on the magazine and upper receiver is the finishing touch, anchoring the visual language directly in classical mythology—refined and elegant.
On this classical canvas of “sacred” imagery, the creator subverts the look with wild street-graffiti art. The blue-themed Medusa head, coiling snakes, and sharp spray-painted lettering create a strong visual clash against the marble and Greek key motifs. That collision is not chaotic, but deliberate: it symbolizes a modern awakened consciousness examining and resisting classical authority and the “false gods.” Some of the graffiti is Counter-Strike-related, such as Rush B on the eyebrow and A/B sites on the body of the gun.
As the creator says, the Medusa figure at the heart of the weapon body is not the terrifying evil Gorgon of traditional mythology. She is drawn with street-art linework, her gaze steady and sharp, glinting with light. It is a “wild and psychedelic” stare, charged with the power of “awakening.” The symbols on her face and the lightning elements around her further reinforce her modern icon quality as a rebel and revealer of truth.
The clearly visible spray-painted text on the skin is the most direct expression of its rebellious spirit. The “FALSE GODS” boldly written below the sight, the “LIES” on the side of the body, and the graffiti symbols near the muzzle all feel sharp, urgent, and packed with raw energy. Together, they read like a shout against a world held together by lies, matching the theme of “a rebellion against the idols worshipped by the masses.”
The skin’s main palette is blue, white, and gold. The white marble and gold Greek key patterns stand for classicism, divinity, and power; the large swaths of custom blue are both the core color of Medusa and her serpents, and, as the creator put it, the “firmament.” Text such as “lies” permeates this sacred blue, symbolizing truth spreading through and overturning a world twisted and built by power.
The design elements on the gun body do not exist in isolation. Blue snakes coil from the stock all the way to the barrel, organically tying together Medusa’s head, text graffiti, and classical textures, giving the whole finish a cohesive, dynamic flow. The placement of “FALSE GODS” (“false gods”) near the sight is especially clever: when you aim, you stare straight at that declaration. It is an inspired touch.
Holding this weapon feels like holding the rebirth of an ancient myth in a modern setting: a woman once misunderstood and cursed is no longer a passive victim, but an awakened figure who actively reveals the truth and turns “the lies that hold this world together to stone.” Its outstanding visual impact aligns closely with the creator’s philosophical flavor text, together building a complete story about resistance, truth, and awakening.
Using a special texture, the creators produced the effect of the “petrifying gaze.” As the viewing angle changes, Medusa’s eyes appear to glow, almost like she’s opening them to trigger the petrification effect.
In fact, the skin that made it into the game is the third version of the design. The first and second versions were both designed and produced by creator Tolik_Wask himself. The first version was titled Perseus's revenge silver (Perseus's silver revenge), and its design elements were relatively simple.
The second version is much richer in detail, titled P90 | Vandal’s Revenge. In this iteration, one of the snakes is red, while the magazine is blue and the sight uses a black metallic style.
The third version brought in creator Blazer and added details like wear-based color changes, Easter eggs, and changes in the eyes—this is the version that was ultimately added to the game:
This skin uses the Gunsmith finish, with a wear range of 0–1. The body features a graffiti-text wear-based Easter egg. Aside from the Easter egg, the body is not especially wear-sensitive, and it also has a unique color-shifting design.

At high wear, graffiti-style Easter egg text becomes visible on the body: “False gods lies” (the lies of false gods)
There is also another feature—the metal elements on the gun body become increasingly “blue” as the wear increases, eventually blending into the skin. Below are the metal colors at 0, 0.5, and 1 float:
