HLTV reports: FUT close to signing SunPayus, cmtry may leave the team

According to HLTV sources, FUT are reportedly close to completing the signing of G2's benched AWPer SunPayus. The Spanish player is expected to take over main AWPer duties from cmtry, who has struggled for consistency throughout 2026.

SunPayus has been inactive since June, when he was benched by G2 and later replaced in the lineup by r1nkle. His arrival would bring significant experience to a young FUT side and could also improve the team's tactical flexibility, as SunPayus can also take on second caller duties.

Sources also revealed that FUT had previously looked at other AWPer options, including sl3nd, who had taken part in a trial with the team, as well as flayy.

SunPayus is expected to make his debut for FUT at the October 24-31 edition of PGL Masters Bucharest.
