HObbit: Competing under the PARIVISION system is a lot of fun; making it to the playoffs feels like a dream.

HObbit says that playing for PARIVISION is “a huge honor” for him. ESL Pro League was PARIVISION’s first event with HObbit officially in the lineup, but the new roster has already found success, beating Natus Vincere in a memorable win on the way to the playoffs.

After spending years grinding through Europe’s lower-tier scene, HObbit returned to top-level competition and admitted that adjusting to PARIVISION’s system has not been easy. “It’s been an important experience because their system is very different,” he told HLTV after the team secured a playoff spot.

“I've never played in such a big system before, you know? There are a lot of things to remember, a lot of things to understand. It's hard, but I understand that this is my chance to compete at a high level right now.”

With an appearance at the legendary Spodek Arena in Katowice just around the corner, HObbit spoke to HLTV about settling into life on his new team and what he brings to Jame and dastan's system at PARIVISION.

Q: Alright, HObbit, congratulations. How does it feel to be back at Spodek Arena?

A: For me, right now feels like a dream.

Q: Talk to me about playing for PARIVISION, leaving, and then coming back. How excited were you to get the chance to return?

A: Of course, it's a huge honor for me to play for PARIVISION. I have a lot of respect for the players I'm competing with. First of all, it's an important experience for me because their system is very different. I've never played in such a big system before, you know? There's a lot to remember and a lot to understand. It's difficult, but I understand that this is my chance to compete at the highest level right now.

Q: So what have you brought to the team? Because dastan talked about your experience and things like that. You said it can be hard to understand this system at times, but you're also bringing things to the team, right?

A: Yes. I’m trying to bring in a lot of things that have worked for me throughout my career. Of course, I’m also trying to adjust their system. Sometimes their system is too broad, so I try to narrow it down, let’s put it that way. I don’t think I’ve ever said this before, but I’ve always put my heart and soul into every team I’ve been on. I’m doing the same here, but I’m using my head more and working with the team. I’m also trying to give them simple answers they can use in matches.

Q: What has that felt like? Because they obviously still have two young players. How do you use your experience to shape and help these guys while also trying to understand the system? Doing both at the same time sounds pretty difficult.

A: Yes. Like I said, I'm doing everything I can, but only they can say how I've helped them. Yeah. I won't say much, but I'll do everything I can. That's it.

Q: And about returning to top-level competition after being away for a few years: did you think you'd get a chance like this again? How excited are you to play in an arena again in two days?

A: It’s really very different. The game has changed, the version has changed, and I’m trying to adapt while enjoying it a lot. That’s it.

Q: Also, dastan told me at the start of the event, he said, 'I want to win a trophy with HObbit before he retires.' If it happens this time, that'd be pretty good too, right?

A: I'm already really happy to be playing with them. For me, that's enough.
