REZ hospitalized with food poisoning; GL forced to use a substitute for the third consecutive event
GamerLegion have officially announced that REZ will miss the opening stage of Logitech G Play Connect due to severe food poisoning. The Swedish player is currently undergoing tests in hospital after feeling unwell for several hours. The club still hopes he can rejoin the team later in the day, but his availability will depend on his recovery.
Standing in for REZ will be kRaSnaL, who is still on ENCE's bench. kRaSnaL's last official match dates back to April this year, when he played for Prodigy at Gamers Assembly Festival.
This also marks the third straight event at which GamerLegion have been forced to field a stand-in:
At the IEM Beijing Closed Qualifier, Maden stood in for Tauson, who missed the event due to health issues;
At FISSURE Playground 3, assistant coach Grashog stood in for Snax, who was unable to travel to China because his passport was damaged.
At this edition of Logitech G Play Connect, GamerLegion have been placed in Group A alongside B8, M80, Luminosity, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and Metizport. The top three teams from each group will advance to the single-elimination playoffs.
