Sashi and MistR mutually terminate their contract; Sashi signs Australian player chelleos and transitions into an Asian team
Sashi previously benched MistR in an attempt to move into the Asia Region (VRS).MistR announced that he and Sashi had mutually agreed to terminate his contract. The Dane said the move would allow him to “step away from this crazy situation and focus on what comes next.” The “crazy situation” MistR referred to was Sashi’s recent regional-switch controversy. Sashi had benched both MistR and Cabbi before bringing in Australian duo TjP and Hatz.
Sashi signed the Australian player mentioned above to a short-term contract in an attempt to move into the Asia Region (VRS), giving the team a better chance of qualifying for PGL Major Singapore 2026 later this year.Sashi’s blatant move prompted Valve to amend the Major Supplemental Rulebook just one day later, blocking the regional switch and leaving Sashi ineligible to compete at the Major.“Thank you to Sashi, and especially to my coaches and teammates,” MistR wrote in a post on X. “The past few days have been difficult, and it has been painful to see what has happened on X.I am glad that Sashi and I mutually agreed to terminate my contract, allowing me to step away from this crazy situation and focus on what comes next.” According to Turkish X user Arhaval, MistR will join BBL. BBL entered CS in August after signing the Echo roster.
The Danish organization has doubled down on its move away from Europe, with Sashi announcing the signing of chelleos from Rooster to replace acoR.The news follows the regional-switch controversy, and with its latest signing, Sashi appears to be further committing to a lineup that can qualify for the Major through Asia VRS. By adding another Oceanic player, the team’s roster core now meets the Asia VRS majority requirement regardless of Anlelele’s residency status.
Following rulebook changes aimed at preventing short-term regional switches, Valve told HLTV that teams attempting to change regions before the Singapore CS2 Major will be disqualified from the Major unless “they proactively reach out and find a solution.”With the addition of another player and a new Roster Core, Sashi can attempt to start from scratch in the Asia VRS region. chelleos has played for Rooster for the past four years, primarily competing in regional events and posting an average Valve Rating of 1.15. The 26-year-old has some international experience, having played in several ESL Pro League seasons and ESL Challenger events in 2023 and 2024.
Sashi have currently made too many player changes, causing the team to lose all of its points and start over from scratch. The lineup has now assembled three Australians and one Vietnamese player, rapidly shifting from Europe to Asia.
