Skin Crafting Project #9: AWP | Ice Coaled
Welcome to Skin Crafting Project, where we’ll show you how to DIY the scope look on AWP | Ice Coaled!
In the showcase section, we mentioned that the skin creator made two AWP | Ice Coaled scope finishes in different styles: one version with a black scope, and one with a gradient-finished scope. Players seem to prefer the gradient scope, though, and the weapon body is already eye-catching enough, so we can start working on a scope craft and try building our own scope sticker setup!
Blue-Green Gradient Scope
This setup only needs four Stickers for the scope, so the fifth Sticker can still be used to decorate the body! For this craft, use two green Rio 2022 Stickers and two blue Rio 2022 Stickers. The gradient on this skin runs from green at the muzzle to blue toward the stock, so we use green Stickers in front of the scope and blue Stickers behind it.
Players can also use gradient Stickers to create a gradient scope. The color-shift range on the Rio gradient Stickers doesn’t change much and mostly sticks to the original colors, so you can use them to craft a holo-style scope. For Paper stickers scope crafts, Stickers with smaller signatures work better; for Holo stickers scope crafts, Stickers with thicker signature fonts give a cleaner result.
Glitter Signature Blue Scope
Aside from Rio 2022 Stickers, Copenhagen 2024 Stickers can also be used to craft a scope look. You’ll need the player autograph Stickers from KOI, since the Glitter and paper team-logo Stickers use a cutout style. Five Stickers are enough to fully cover the scope: place three vertically on the front of the scope, then add two on the rear to fill in the gaps.
Likewise, Copenhagen player autograph Stickers also come in Holo versions. The Holo finish on Copenhagen 2024 Stickers does not shift color very much either, and team logo Holo stickers are expensive, so it is still recommended that you go with Holo player autographs.
Black Panther Holo Scope
When it comes to the effect of team Holo stickers, my Bao Ge is still in a league of its own. The Holo stickers from every event have excellent color-shifting effects, making it worthy of the title Valve's golden child. For this build, we use three Sticker | Imperial Esports (Holo) | Antwerp 2022 and two Sticker | FURIA (Holo) | Paris 2023 to clean up the scope. The three emerald Imperial stickers are placed in front of the scope to follow the weapon’s color gradient, while the two sky-blue FURIA stickers go behind it. The green toward the front and the blue toward the rear blend into the skin nicely, and on top of that clean color match, you get a strong Holo effect. The whole craft is very easy on the eyes.
Glitter Blue Gem Scope
Wrap the scope with shimmering Blue Gem stickers, so the scope sparkles as the viewing angle changes. You will need five Glitter stickers Blue Gem stickers, and you should place them to maximize coverage around the front and rear of the scope, creating a scope that shines like a blue diamond.
Holo Eye
The holo-shifting Sticker | Liquid Fire has a highly saturated, full-spectrum color-shift effect. Using this Sticker for the craft can even tie into the Sticker gradient effect. Place three Holo stickers in front of the scope to create a gradient-eye look; fully wrapping the scope takes five Sticker | Liquid Fire stickers, and the Sticker setup ends up looking like an eye-like gradient.
The regular version of Sticker | Liquid Fire can also be used to create a blue scope, and the result looks great too.
Holo Scope - Pixel Version
Holo scope pixel version. Compared with the Sticker | Liquid Fire version, this one has lower saturation, but it is easier to craft. You will need five Holo stickers Sticker | Beware of Grenade to fully cover the scope.
Golden Scope
Blue-and-gold scope: if you want to craft a gold scope while keeping the blue metallic ring on the scope, you will need five Glitter Stickers Sticker | Stone Scales. Apply three Sticker | Stone Scales to the front of the scope to cover the gaps between the Stickers, then place the other two on the rear of the scope to finish the gold-scope look.
Arrow Scope
Among the in-game Stickers, Sticker | Leaving The Station is also one of the go-to picks for players if you want a strong color-shift effect. This Sticker also has a distinctive shape. With five Sticker | Leaving The Station stickers, you can build a forward-pointing design, and placing three stacked in front of the scope creates an arrow element that points ahead.
