Skin Remake Project #5: AK-47 | Midnight Laminate
There are already plenty of AK skins in the Laminate series, and with the fifth purple “Midnight Laminate” now added to the game, the Laminate series can field a five-color squad! Purple, red, blue, black, and green—one for each player!
That said, the AK-47 | Midnight Laminate is a bit different from the other Laminate skins. Red Laminate, Blue Laminate, Black Laminate, and Green Laminate—the four older Laminate finishes—only add the finish to the handguard and stock on the old model. They share the same wood grain, just in different colors. AK-47 | Midnight Laminate uses the newer model, with larger wood-grain patterns, and the rest of the finish leans into a purple metallic style. The tech has moved forward, and the aesthetic has changed with it.
The metallic purple finish already gives it a big boost in looks, but can the right Sticker craft take it even further? Here are a few setups worth checking out, so let’s get straight into it.
Bolt Charge
The purple glitter lightning set pairs nicely with the skin, and Glitter Stickers have that built-in reflective pop! This craft uses one Sticker | Bolt Charge and four Bolt Charge, bursting outward from the center. No scraping needed.
Another combo people use a lot has the energy bursting out toward both the front and back. It needs one Sticker | Bolt Charge, two Bolt Charge, and two AWP | Lightning Strike. The effect is similar to the previous setup, just with different artwork.
Purple Flame
Another shiny elemental Sticker Sticker | Sizzling CurvyThe blue-purple gradient also fits this skin really well! And because it has a normal map, the fire element on this Sticker can glow! This is an easy craft—just place it anywhere on the rifle and apply it however you like!
Looks great in both dark and bright areas!
FX
The purple Fluxo (Holo) Sticker is a perfect match for this skin! Pick five Fluxo (Holo) stickers and place them however you like on the rifle. Its blue-purple color shift fits the finish really well. You can also scrape the FX logo to your taste. Paris 2023 Stickers can be scraped all the way down without damaging the design, though it will lose a tiny bit of brightness—barely noticeable.
Eternal Dragon Pattern
22The Antwerp Eternal Fire logo is blue, and the Holo version shifts through a cyan-blue-purple gradient. You can use five Eternal Fire stickers arranged along the rifle to create a dragon-scale pattern.
Purple Lily
You’ll need five Sticker | Miami Flick stickers to make a flower craft! Scratch them all the way down to reveal the hidden detail, so each one looks like a petal. Arrange them in a circle to create a purple lily.
Lattice Pentaflower
Sticker | 9z Team | Antwerp 2022This Sticker is purple too, so if you go with five 9z stickers, the pointed edges of the 9 can line up into a flower-like purple crystal bloom. For wear and scraping, just follow the data below. You only want the Antwerp logo to be faintly visible—don’t scrape into the 9z logo itself!
About Handguard Customization
Web Stuck (Holo) Handguard
Five Web Stuck (Holo) stickers fit perfectly across the handguard, and the purple-green shift matches the skin’s color palette really well.
Also, the regular version of Web Stuck can also be used for a purple AK craft! (Though the regular Web Stuck is actually more expensive than the Holo version.)
Storm Handguard
StickerSticker | Turbulence also works on the handguard, though this craft is on the pricier side. This Sticker has a blue-to-purple gradient with a contour-style pattern, and in some scenes you can catch flashes of lightning in the center of the storm vortex.
About 9z mini sticker combos
The 9z Team sticker also works as a two-sticker pairing. For both Sticker combos, you need to flip one of them so they both look like the number “69.” Two different combos in one:
