Skins/items talk: What one-of-a-kind glitched CS items are there in CS?
Even though CS skins/items are now a fairly mature system, quite a few glitched CS items that should never have existed were created back when CS first added inventory items. Let’s take a look at the one-of-a-kind glitched CS items that exist in the game.
"starless" 0-wear Karambit
Although Vanilla Karambits are not affected by wear, this Karambit looks exactly the same in-game as any other Vanilla Karambit. But its displayed name, “Karambit,” is missing the (★) marker normally used for knives. At the same time, its float value is not within the 0.06–0.80 range for Vanilla knives, but is instead a true “zero wear” item.
the top-ranked starless Karambit by wear on database sites
At the same time, on the Steam inventory page, this Karambit also lacks the purple border normally associated with the item. To this day, there is still no firm conclusion on where this bugged Karambit came from. It is generally believed to have been created when Steam Support restored skins/items by mistake. The starless Karambit is currently owned by the collector HFB.
wearless Bayonet
Aside from the wearless Karambit, another “wearless Bayonet” also once appeared in a player's inventory. Although it looks no different in-game, its 0.00 wear still pushes it beyond the 0.06 float cap, making it a true bugged knife.
But unlike the tradable starless Karambit, this Bayonet cannot be traded or listed on the Steam Community Market. The most plausible theory at the moment is that during early CS:GO testing, a player renamed the CT side “Default Bayonet” and managed to keep it in their inventory. For that reason, this Bayonet’s legendary status is not quite on the same level as the “starless Karambit” mentioned above.
Not tradable, not marketable

Prototype EMS One Katowice 2014 Sticker Capsule
“Prototype” skins/items are nothing new among CS skins/items. They are usually special gifts Valve grants to creators whose work is accepted into the Steam Workshop. But AZK, a player at EMS One Katowice 2014, has a Prototype EMS Katowice 2014 Sticker Capsule item in his inventory. At the same time, this was not an item every player received; it only ended up in the inventories of iBUYPOWER players. They did not help Valve design the stickers inside, and it was not a “gift” given to every player. Why do you think Valve added this item to his inventory?
Operation Bravo Case (Prototype)
Another "Prototype" skins/items that likewise should not exist is the Prototype Operation Bravo Case. Because all the skins/items inside it were designed by Valve, in theory Valve should not have made a "Prototype" case for anyone as an incentive. But in a post on an overseas forum seven years ago, someone showed a screenshot of themselves trading a Prototype Operation Bravo Case. Although trade screenshots can be faked, the market page for the Prototype Operation Bravo Case genuinely exists. Do you think this was something a Valve employee created to reward themselves?
Souvenir M249 with no Souvenir description
As the first CS:GO Major hosted by Valve, DreamHack Winter 2013 produced many bugged Souvenir items. The rarest of them is the description-less Souvenir M249 | Gator Mesh.Later on, other bugged Souvenir items also surfaced, such as ones with “missing MVP info” or “missing team-name info.”But the only Souvenir completely lacking the yellow match-description text is this one M249 | Gator Mesh.
Nova with an extreme float cap
Nova | Predator is not an especially remarkable weapon skin, but as one of the early skins released by Valve, it has a minimum float cap of 0.06. Yet this particular Predator’s wear somehow landed at an unusual 0.05999. Collectors speculate this may be related to binary rounding or some other algorithmic issue. From Valve’s server-side perspective, that float value was still treated as being above the 0.06 minimum float cap. If this Predator were not float-capped, it might be a truly “zero-wear” weapon skin.
0.3799 Battle-Scarred
As everyone knows, Field-Tested has a wear range of 0.15 to 0.38, but in Valve's eyes, many skins/items with a float value around 0.37999 are instead identified as “Battle-Scarred.”This may also be a bug caused by an issue with Valve's algorithm and number-base handling.
The "Shouldn't Exist" Souvenir R8 RevolverBecause of quirks in Valve's early code, Souvenir Packages could drop newer skins that were added to the same collection later on. As a result, after Valve introduced the R8 Revolver in 2015, players were able to unbox a DreamHack Winter 2013 Souvenir R8.
The TYLOO and 100 Thieves stickers that were briefly sold
Although these two teams ultimately did not attend ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018, the capsules Valve sold early on still contained Stickers for both teams! Valve later removed those two teams' Stickers from the capsules, which turned them into extremely scarce discontinued Stickers.
