Sticker Meme Encyclopedia: Nyan Chicken has a Lenticular style submission too?

Welcome to this edition of Sticker Meme Encyclopedia. Today’s featured Sticker is: Eyes In The Sky!

Pixels, blue skies, flight, rainbows... the classic meme Nyan Cat!

Nyan Cat is essentially an animated GIF that someone later paired with an insanely catchy track. It shows a pixel-art cartoon cat with the body of an American Pop-Tart flying through space, trailing a rainbow behind it. The audio is ridiculously earwormy! Meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow.....

Today, Nyan Cat is widely seen as one of the iconic symbols of early-2010s internet culture, representing the innocent, quirky, and highly creative online vibe of that era.

So, let’s take a look at this Sticker...

A pixel-art sticker design. This sticker references the Nyan Cat look, creating a Nyan Chicken flying through the sky, while Slingshot | Phoenix, Fly Head, and the Separatists (formerly nicknamed the Mushroom-headed Ts on Inferno) look up at the chicken overhead. This well-crafted sticker also hides sticker easter eggs. It comes in a Glitter finish and features a nicely detailed normal map. Here is how the sticker looks:

unscratched sticker

This Sticker is also quite large, only slightly smaller than Fallen Heroes, one of the biggest Stickers in the game.

First scrape-stage easter egg

The first scrape-stage easter egg scrapes away the sky background and the Agent below looking up, leaving the flying chicken, the clouds, and the chicken’s rainbow trail.

second scrape-stage easter egg

The second scrape-stage easter egg scrapes away the background clouds, leaving the chicken and rainbow.

third scrape-stage easter egg

The third scrape-stage easter egg scrapes away the chicken’s rainbow trail, leaving behind the chicken.

And the only Holo sticker in Elemental Stickers from The Armory Pass with a complete intact design, Rainbow Route (Holo), was made to mimic Nyan Cat’s rainbow trail, and it can be scraped to reveal a particle-trail easter egg and a rainbow question mark ❓ easter egg.

And if you pair it with the little chicken easter egg from Rainbow Chicken, you can make your own complete Nyan Chicken!

This sticker was designed by creator oKeyush. You may have also seen animations from this creator, which have a very distinctive art style. They're a seriously accomplished creator whose stickers and skins have both been accepted, including the anniversary Sticker DJ Safecracker, TV Installation , and the skin XM1014 | Zombie Offensive, among others.

But actually, the creator’s earliest version of this Sticker was the Lenticular sticker style Nyan Chicken sticker. Its effect shows the chicken flying through the sky; as the viewing angle changes, the chicken keeps soaring while the rainbow trail shifts along with the background.

This creator has made quite a few high-quality Lenticular Stickers, with varied and good-looking motion effects. You could call them one of the best creators of Lenticular Stickers—honestly, you could even drop the “one of.” At first, only the Lenticular variant was submitted, but later on (in July), the creator also submitted Paper, Glitter, and Foil styles, and in the end, the Foil version was accepted. Personally, I think that’s a bit of a shame... I still feel the Lenticular version showed it off better.
