Sticker Meme Encyclopedia: Seraph

BUFFAssistant

For the 10th anniversary, a sticker called Seraph was released, along with a Glock skin named "Defuse Angel." CS has a lot of legendary stories, and this is one of them: the famous moment when olofmeister stuck the defuse through the flames and made the play his own.

In the 2014 ESL Semi-finals, with the score tied 14-14 against Team Dignitas on Overpass, olofmeister was under immense pressure on the Counter-Terrorist side. Dignitas had planted the bomb, and olofmeister made it to the bombsite, cleared it out, and started the defuse. But the Terrorists threw utility onto the bombsite, trying to force olofmeister off the bomb. He didn’t back down. He kept sticking the defuse. Standing in the flames, he forced the defuse through, and the moment the bomb was defused, the fire swallowed him up. That secured the 15th point, put them on match point, and they eventually closed out the win.

This was olofmeister’s personal hero moment, and even more than that, a tribute to courage and commitment. Even in-game, most players don’t think much of passive play or running away; they prefer a style like Seraph instead, one that keeps fighting and commits fully to winning.

Olof (olofmeister)

The story of olofmeister sticking it in the fire left a graffiti on Overpass (Overpass): a GSG-9 operator defusing the bomb in the flames. Later, with the CS20 Case, a skin called Seraph was released to commemorate the legendary fire defuse.

‌

Fnatic’s official account also made an animation to commemorate it:

Later, the 10 Year Birthday Sticker Capsule also introduced a sticker, Seraph (Holo), to commemorate olofmeister’s defuse through the flames.

He's sticking the defuse! He's still on it!

This is the story of olofmeister, the story of Seraph.
