Among the Fruit Stickers, there’s one that looks weirdly familiar: a Glitter sticker called “Sticker | Banana Art,” stuck to a wall. So what’s the joke here?
It’s actually the artwork Comedian. This performance-style installation was created by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan and shown in 2019 at Art Basel Miami Beach. It consists of a regular banana duct-taped to a wall with gray tape, and it became hugely controversial and ridiculously talked-about.

One of the piece’s core ideas is its unpredictable “liveness.” During the exhibition, performance artist David Datuna took the banana off the wall and ate it on the spot, calling the act “Hungry Artist.” Global media ran wild with the story, which only pushed the work’s value and meme power even higher. The banana was then replaced and the exhibition continued. Later, during showings in Seoul, South Korea, and at Centre Pompidou-Metz in France, visitors ate the banana two more times. Still, bananas and duct tape are pretty common, so this piece of art is easy enough to recreate.

In 2024, Chinese buyer Justin Sun bought the work at a Sotheby's auction for US$5.2 million (US$6.24 million including fees), paying in cryptocurrency. Justin Sun said Cattelan's work builds a bridge between art, internet memes, and the crypto community, while art critic Jason Farago called it a satire of speculation in the art market.

As for this sticker, its banana image is built from the in-game Banana Art sticker itself. Tape that banana to a wall, and you basically get this sticker; now players can pick it up and turn their guns into Comedian.
This sticker has a sticker Easter egg: the banana has been taped up for so long that it’s gone black and rotten. Scrape it down and you can reveal a bruised-up, battered banana.
