So in today's sticker meme deep dive, let's take a closer look at this hilarious Door Stuck moment.
When most people first see this sticker, they probably have no idea what it is. Sticker | Door Stuck? What even is that? In fact, this sticker references two separate memes. One is "Door Stuck," and the other is "Sticker | Door Stuck." Going in chronological order, let’s start with "Door Stuck."
“Door Stuck” can be traced back more than a decade—older than some CS players. When Door Stuck was born, young gun Donk was only eight months old, still basically in the cradle. According to unofficial lore, the Door Stuck meme first appeared late on Friday night, September 21, 2007. Player kinetik001 was playing on de_cpl_mill. In that match, the “guy stuck in the door,” imbackk(GRBSN), was not having a great game. But the door-blocker, kinetik001, was a CAL-P player: strong, sharp, and playing well. With his teammates underperforming, he was feeling the pressure. On top of that, imbackk(GRBSN), the guy getting door-stuck, kept singing, dancing, and rapping the whole time. That was no small mental attack on kinetik001—and the track imbackk(GRBSN) kept rapping was Snoop Dogg’s “Drop It Like its Hot.”
You might not recognize him at first, but this rapper is actually a pro player who shows up all the time in MLG-style montage memes / English-language meme edits:

Ahem. Back to the point. The awful scoreline and the endless rapping finally broke kinetik001, so he pulled out his knife and kept swinging at imbackk(GRBSN). There was no team damage, but it was an outlet. Hitting him made kinetik001 feel a little better. Then, as they passed a doorway, he finally managed to trap him. kinetik001 said nothing; he was blocking him on purpose. Even while stuck in the door, imbackk(GRBSN) still did not forget to rap. A few seconds later, he finally realized how serious the problem was. Because kinetik001 was crowding him, the door could neither open nor close, and he could not move at all.
So he finally panicked. He stopped rapping, started yelling, kept begging for mercy, and shouted the classic line: Door Stuck! Door Stuck! Please! I beg you! One commenter put it best: “That ‘PLEASE’ has so much pain in it. Not even a Scorsese movie can deliver that.” In the end, because he was wedged in the doorway and couldn’t move, the arriving Terrorists / T side spotted him. And it is not just the meme itself. “Door Stuck” often shows up in all kinds of door-related interactions. For example, while I was recently digging through the CS community for funny bugs, I found a door bug on Overpass. In the video, the player finds the bug, keeps messing with the door, and imitates the yell: “Door Stuck.”
And basically, any time there’s an interaction involving a door, someone brings up “Door Stuck.” For example, in this meme-y CS animation, there’s a door-related moment in one frame, so someone dropped this reference in the comments:
So part of the design idea behind Sticker | Door Stuck may also be a nod to the original Door Stuck. But Sticker | Door Stuck is also tied to another meme, which comes from the story of a real "door-stuck chicken":
The story behind Sticker | Door Stuck is the classic clip of ropz getting blocked at a door by a chicken on Inferno. In that match, a chicken spawned in round nine and slowly wandered around. By round eleven, player movement spooked it, and the little chicken wedged itself in the doorway. In that round, ropz was the last player alive for the Terrorists / T side, facing four Counter-Terrorists / CTs. When he decided to go for the save / saving a weapon, he found he could not open the door. He assumed there had to be a Counter-Terrorists / CTs player hiding behind it, so he fired at the door, only to find no one there. The gunfire gave him away, and he was eventually killed by coldzera, who had come over to clean it up.
Completely baffled, he called a timeout to check what happened, only to realize a chicken had blocked the doorway. So in that game, ropz turned into a full-on chicken hater and killed every chicken he ran into. Chicken: What are you doing? Ow!

Beyond that, chickens are moving elements on some maps, adding a bit of life to the map while also bringing in some extra unpredictability. Chickens often run into odd bugs: spinning in place like a top, getting stuck in one spot while endlessly walking in place, and squawking the whole time, which can be a little distracting for players. Sometimes they even interact with guns, knocking weapons out of the map, or interact with the C4, which players normally can’t do much with beyond picking it up.

Even so, chickens are still Gaben's favorites. No matter how many bugs they cause, Valve is never going to delete its own favorite child. Valve never forgets its chickens: during holidays, they get new little outfits; even the commemorative coin was a chicken cake. Map agents still have not returned, but chickens already have five skins and a white model, and they even got more polished animations. Updates have included bits like “the chicken can go uphill / reach high ground,” too. Some bloggers waiting for CS updates even changed their avatars to chickens, using them to “hold Valve hostage” and demand that it hurry up and release the update:
