YEKINDAR: I’m no longer handling IGL / calling duties, and I hope they won’t make me do it again in the future

After FURIA beat MIBR at StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026, YEKINDAR revealed that he has handed the calling duties he had previously taken on back to FalleN.

Previously, to prepare in advance for FalleN potentially retiring at the end of the year, FURIA tried having YEKINDAR take on some of the IGL / calling duties, with him responsible for the T sides on Anubis, Cache, and Ancient. However, YEKINDAR had already said several times that he might be willing to try taking on IGL / calling duties in the future, but not now, as he still believes he can bring value as a role player.

YEKINDAR: Credit where it’s due, I’m not calling anymore, and I hope they won’t have me call again in the future.

We tried it before because we wanted to figure out: Is this really what I want to do? Is this what the team needs?

In the end, I came to the conclusion that this was causing way too much cortisol, and I don't want to keep handling the IGL / calling duties. So I told FalleN, "You should take the calling duties back on these maps." (laughs)

Then he said, "Of course, I'll take it back, no problem."

Of course, if I feel something in the moment, I might still call a few things. But most of the time, especially in tougher situations, it is still FalleN handling the IGL / calling duties.

That also depends on how you define "IGL / calling duties." FalleN handles more of the overall ideas and structure, while I can help with some of the finer adjustments and how to actually execute that plan. But mainly, it's still FalleN.
